A: 저거 천둥이야?

A: Is that thunder?

B: 그런거 같은데. 곧 비 오려나보다.

B: Yeah, I think so. I guess/ It looks like / It feels like / It sounds like it's going to start raining soon.

A: 출발하기 전에 예보를 확인했으면 좋았을걸. 비가 올거라는 것을 알았으면 차를 가져왔을텐데. 오늘 아침에는 화창했어.

A: I wish I had checked the forecast before I left. I would've brought my car if I knew it was going to rain. It was clear this morning.

B: 괜찮아. 걱정마. 내가 태워다 줄게.

B: It's OK. Don't worry. I can give you a lift.

-먼저 검색을 해볼걸. 할인 이벤트가 있을거라는걸 알았으면 기다렸을텐데.

I wish I had looked it up first. If I knew there was going to be a discount event, I would've waited.

- 전문가를 고용할걸. 이렇게 어려울 줄 알았으면 내가 직접 (시도)하려고 하지 않았을텐데.

I wish I had just hired a professional. I wouldn't have tried to do it myself if I knew it would be this hard.

-더 조심할걸. 걔가 그렇게 반응할거라는걸 알았으면 걔한테 얘기하지 않았을텐데.

I wish I hadn't been so stupid! If I knew how bad it was going to affect me, I wouldn't have hung out with them.

 

* 바보같이 굴다/행동하다 라는 말을 action verb없이 'be stupid'라고 말하는 것은 흔한 표현 방식

Don't be late(늦지마), Don't be so naive(순진하게 굴지마) 처럼.
