Travel to Taiwan

A: 안녕! 오랜만이야! 어떻게 지내?

A: Hi! It's been a long time since I saw you! How have you been?

B: 응, 잘 지내고 있어. 최근에 대만 여행 다녀왔어. 너는 어때?

B: I'm doing well. I recently returned/came back from a trip to Taiwan. So, how about you?

A: 나는 늘 같아. 대만 여행은 어땠어?

A: Same as usual. Wow, how was your trip?

B: 대만 친구랑 같이 다녀와서 정말 재밌었어. 특히 대만 문화를 더 잘 이해하는데 도움이 됐어.

B: It was really fun because I traveled with a Taiwanese friend. Particularly It can help me understand Taiwanese culture better.

A: 어떤 면에서 도움이 됐어?

A: In what way was it helpful?

B: 친구 덕분에 나 혼자 다니면 가기 힘들었을 여러 곳을 갈 수 있었어. 예를 들면, 중국어를 모르면 주문하기 어려운 현지 식당 같은 곳이 있잖아. 게다가 친구가 안내도 해주고 현지인들과 소통도 해줘서 여행이 아주 편했어.

B: Thanks to my friend, I went to many places that I couldn't have visited if I had gone alone. For example, there are local restaurants where it is difficult to order if you do not know Chinese. Also, my friend guided me and communicated with the locals, so I was able to travel very comfortably.

A: 대만에는 특히 기억에 남는 문화나 역사적 장소가 있었어?

A: Were there any specific cultural or historical sites in Taiwan that left a lasting impression on you?

B: 특히 타이난에는 많은 역사적인 명소가 있었어. 그래서 우리는 그 중에서 가장 유명한 몇 군데를 보기 위한 티켓을 샀어. 안평 트리 하우스라는 곳이 있는데 옛날에는 소금 창고로 사용되었지만 지금은 나무로 뒤덮여서 아름다운 전망을 볼 수 있어. 가오슝에서는 치진 섬에서 자전거 탔던 것이 가장 기억나. 외국에서 처음으로 자전거를 타본 것인데 자유를 만끽하게 해줬어.

B: Especially in Tainan, there were many historical sites. So we bought tickets to see some of the most famous of them. There is a place called Anping Tree House, which was once used as a salt warehouse but is now covered with trees, so it offers you a wonderful view. In Kaohsiung, I most remember riding a bicycle on Cijin Island. It was the first time to ride a bicycle abroad. It allowed me to enjoy freedom.

A: 대만은 다양하고 맛있는 음식으로 유명하잖아. 어떤 음식이 맛있었어?

A: Taiwan is famous for its diverse and delicious food. What food was delicious?

B: 대만 샤부샤부를 먹어봤는데, 우리나라와는 다른 재료를 사용해서 색다른 느낌이었어. 그리고 내가 좋아하는 밀크티를 많이 마셨어. 특히, 춘쉐이탕 밀크티가 가장 맛있었는데, 퀄리티가 높고 다양한 종류의 밀크티가 있었어. 또 야시장에서 길거리 음식도 즐겼어. 닭 엉덩이살 꼬치와 파파야 밀크를 먹었지. 생각하니 다시 먹고 싶네!

B: I had Taiwanese shabu shabu, and it felt different because they used different ingredients than ours. And I had a lot of milk teas, which I love. Particularly, I like the Chunshuitang milk tea the most, which is very high-quality and has lots of different milk teas. Also, I tried street food at the night market. I had chicken butt skewers and papaya milk. Now that I think about it, I want to have it again!

A: 나도 그렇다! 그럼 대만에서의 전반적인 여행 경험은 어땠어? 교통, 숙소, 문화 측면에서...

A: So do I! And how was your overall travel experience in Taiwan? From transportation to accommodation, and the cultural aspects...

B: 대만 사람들은 주로 스쿠터를 교통수단으로 사용하는데, 친구가 하나 빌려서 타게 되었어. 정말 환상적이었어, 왜냐면 스쿠터를 타면 도시의 경치를 볼 수 있고 걸어다니는 것보다 더 멀리 갈 수 있으니까. 그리고 가오슝에는 지하철과 트램이 있어서 어디든 편하게 이동할 수 있었어.

B: Taiwanese people primarily use scooters for transportation, and I had the opportunity to ride it because my friend rented one, and it was really fantastic because when riding a scooter, I could see the scenery of the city and go further than when I was only walking. And in Koshuing City, they have subways and trams on the streets, so it was really comfortable to move somewhere.

A: 마지막으로, 대만에서 특별한 순간이나 경험이 있었어?

A: Lastly, Were there any specific moments or experiences in Taiwan?

B: 만약 대만 여행에서 가장 기억에 남는 순간을 선택해야 한다면, 대만 친구와 보낸 시간일 거야. 그 친구랑 같이 놀 때가 정말 재밌었어. 특히 저녁에 호텔에서, 우리 둘만의 라이브 방송을 했어. 마치 방송 중인 것처럼 대만 음식을 먹어보고 각각 리뷰하는 시간이 정말 즐거웠어.

B: If I had to choose one memorable thing about my trip to Taiwan, it would be spending time with my Taiwanese friends, because it was really fun with her. Especially when we were at the hotel at night, we did a live broadcast only between us, as if it were on the air. We tried Taiwanese foods and reviewed each one. It was a lot of fun.

A: 오! 대만 친구와의 우정이 계속 이어지길 바랄께!
