What kind of life do I want?

A: 요즘 내 커리어 변경에 대해 생각하고 있어. 결정하기 전에, 어떤 삶을 원하는지 생각해 봤어. 먼저 가장 좋은 계절에 여행을 할 수 있고 내가 원할때 언제든지 멈출 수 있는 삶을 원해.

A: Thesedays I've been thinking about my career change. Before deciding, I thought about what kind of life I wanted. Firstly, I want a life where I can travel during the best seasons and stop whenever I want. 

B: 와, 환상적이다! 대부분의 직장인들이 꿈꾸는 삶의 형태인 것 같아. 그래서 너의 계획은 뭐야?

B: Wow, that's fantastic! That seems to be the kind of life that most office workers dream of. So, what's your plan?

A: 그 꿈을 실현하기 위해서 일단 웹사이트 제작이랑 영어를 배우고 있어. 사실 이게 어떤 기회를 가져다 줄지 알 수 없어서 헛수고이진 않을까 매번 의심이 돼. 그렇지만 내 인생에서 하고 싶은 일을 위해 꼭 필요한 것이라는 생각을 하면 하지 않을 수 없어.

A: For now, I'm learning website development and English to make that dream come true. Actually, I don't know what opportunity this will bring, so I always doubt if it will be in vain. But I can't help but do it when I think it's absolutely necessary for what I want to do in my life.

B: 맞아! 너가 좋아하는 일을 해도 망하면 어떡하지 하는 생각이 당연히 들어. 그래서 나중에 후회하지 않으려면(아깝지 않으려면) 너가 원하는 것에 투자해야 하는 거야.(투자해야 하는 이유가 바로 그거야.)

B: Right! Even though you do what you love, you naturally get to think about 'what if I fail?' So that's why you need to invest in what you want, not to regret it later.

A: 완전 공감해! 유튜브에서 여행 영상 몇개를 봤어. 현지인들과 그들의 언어로 소통할 수 있는 여행자들에게 많은 감명을 받았어. 그게 바로 내가 원하는 여행이거든.

A: I can't agree with you more. I watched some travel videos on Youtube. I was so impressed by travelers who could communicate with locals in their language. That's exactly the kind of travel I want.

B: 와, 멋지다! 그래서 어떤 외국어 배우고 있어?

B: Wow! That's wonderful! So what foreign language are you learning?

A: 먼저, 영어를 주로 배우고 있어. 그리고 일본어와 중국어도 하려고 해. 왜냐면 가기 쉽기 때문에, 자연스럽게 주변 나라들에 관심이 갔어.(그래서 지금도 관심이 있다.)

A: First of all, I'm mainly learning English. And I'm trying to learn Japanese and Chinese. Because it's easy to get there, I naturally have become interested in neighboring countries.

B: 그럼 웹사이트로는 무엇을 할 계획이야?

B: Then what are you planning to do with the website?

A: 내 생각들과 경험들을 쓸 수 있고 내가 공부한 것들을 정리할 수 있는 나만의 브랜드 사이트를 만들고 싶었어. 내가 경험한 것들에서 사람들과 나눌 수 있는 것들이 있지 않을까?

A: I wanted to make my own brand website where I could write about my thoughts and experiences and organize what I've learned. Isn’t there something I can share with people from my experience/about what I experienced?

B: 완전! 사람들에게 전하고 싶은 가치들이 있니?

B: Absolutely! Do you have any values ​​that you want to deliver to people?

A: 직장이 의미 없고 삶의 방향을 잃었다고 느끼는 사람들이 자신만의 의미를 찾고 희망을 느끼게 해주고 싶어. 자신의 직장에 만족하는 사람들도 자신만의 가치있는 일이 필요하다고 생각해. 왜냐면 은퇴하는 시기는 언젠가 오기 마련이거든.

A: I want to help people who feel meaningless at work and lost in life find their own meaning and feel hope. People need their own worthwhile work, even though they are satisfied with their job. Because the time to retire must come someday.

B: 정말 좋은 가치이기 때문에, 그것에 공감하고 따르려는(따르고 싶어하는) 사람들이 많을 거라 생각해.

B: Because it's such a good value, I think there will be many people who sympathize with it and want to follow it.

A: 좋은 말 고마워! 이렇게 나를 성장시키는 것은 결핍인 것 같아. 지금 직장을 미치게 그만두고 싶은 열망이 없다면 지금처럼 열심히 나를 계발하며 살진 않았을테니까.

A: Thank you for your kind words! It's the lack that makes me grow. If I didn't have the crazy desire to quit my current job, I wouldn't work as hard to develop myself as I do now.

B: 응 너는 지금 한발 더 성장하고 있는 거야. 아무 시도도 하지 않으면 결국 그 안에 갇혀서 아무 것도 할 수 없어. 지금처럼 너가 할 수 있는 작은 시도를 계속 한다면 너의 길을 꼭 찾을 수 있을 거라 생각해.(믿어)

B: Yes, you are growing one step further now. If you don't try anything, you'll end up being stuck inside and unable to do anything. I believe that if you keep making small attempts/efforts like you are doing now, you will definitely find your way.

A: 응 내가 원하는 삶에 가까워 지고 있는 이 설레는 과정에 너도 함께 하지 않을래?

A: Right, wouldn’t you like to join me in this exciting process of getting closer to the life you want?

B: 나야 너무 좋지! 나도 나만의 가치 있는 일을 찾아 봐야 겠다!

B: I love it so much! I also need to find something worthwhile of my own!
